Tool Lending Program
New in 2023!
The Tool Lending Program offers a variety of tools and equipment that Coppell residents may check-out free of charge to assist with property cleanup and improvement projects. Review the Tool Trailer Guidelines and fill out the request form to get started.
Borrowing Individual Tools
Select tools are available to borrow from the Tool Lending Trailer for Coppell residents over the age of 18. Residents must fill out an online application to request the tools they need. Available tools include a lawn mower, bow rake, round shovel, leaf rake, loppers, shears, push broom, hard hat, and safety glasses.
After review of the application and upon availability, the tool(s) will be delivered by Staff and can be kept up to one week. Tool delivery and pick-up will only be conducted on Tuesdays and Thursdays.
Renting the Tool Lending Trailer
Service organizations and Neighborhood or Homeowners Associations are eligible to rent the entire Tool Lending Trailer. A representative from the organization or a member of the neighborhood must fill out the online Request Form to rent the trailer.
The Tool Lending Trailer is available on weekends only. Reservations will be made on a first come, first serve basis. Reservations can be made up to 6 months in advance and no later than 2 weeks before the requested date of use. The applicant is responsible for coordinating pick-up and drop-off of the trailer with City Staff. The group using the Tool Lending Trailer assumes responsibility for the trailer and its contents from the time they receive it until it is returned to the city. All members of the organization of neighborhood that will be using the trailer contents must sign and return the Tool Lending Program User Release form. A $100 deposit fee must be paid to the city prior to the reservation date. When the trailer is returned to the City with all contents accounted for and in good condition, the deposit will be returned to the organization or neighborhood association. If contents are missing or returned damaged, the $100 deposit will be used to cover the costs to replace or repair items.
